The C.I.A., established in the Italian region of Umbria, is an organisation of agricultural experts whose main aim is to defend the important role of both farming and farmers in the civil, democratic and economic development of society.
The C.I.A. belongs to the Confederation of Italian Farmers. Its national head office is in Rome, with a delegation in Brussels and is present throughout the country.

The C.I.A. manages various associations and includes around 750.000 members.
The C.I.A. has a regional head office in the city of Perugia, 7 provincial offices and 34 offices in the biggest towns of Umbria.

Its role within the association is of utmost importance due to its large experience in the participation in European Projects and Initiatives.

Its permanent and constant connection with farmers already taking the first actions towards multifunctionality, makes the C.I.A. very useful in the Project.


CIPA.AT

   - Since 1981, it operated as a technical assistance branch of the Confederazione Italian Agricoltori dell'Umbria.

   - It developed a constant vocational training activity using European, National and Regional funds.

   - It is particularly engaged in the sphere of sustainable rural development, multiskilling and multifunctional growth of farms, organic and heritage food, quality of environment and rural tourism.

   - In the last year CIPA-AT completed in the framework of the assistance measure to the training and employment system of the province of Perugia, a dictionary of competences in agriculture based on the most innovative production processes in all the main agricultural fields.
